The Types of Common Headache.

There are several broad types of common headache and understanding the differences between them can help you better manage your condition. Here is a brief description of some of the most common types of headaches:
- Tension headaches: Tension headaches are the most common type of headache. They are usually caused by stress, tension, or muscle strain in the neck and scalp. Symptoms include a dull ache on both sides of the head and tightness or pressure in the forehead or temples. These are very common.
- Migraines: Migraines are not just a bad headache. Migraines are a type of headache that can be severe and disabling. They are often accompanied by other symptoms, such as nausea, vomiting, and sensitivity to light and sound. Migraines may be triggered by certain foods, stress, or hormonal changes.
- Cluster headaches: Cluster headaches are a rare type of headache that occur in cyclical patterns or clusters. They are extremely painful and typically affect one side of the head. Symptoms include severe, burning pain around the eye, redness, and tearing.
- Sinus headaches: Sinus headaches are caused by inflammation of the sinuses and can be triggered by allergies or a sinus infection. Symptoms include pain and pressure around the eyes, cheeks, and forehead, and congestion.
